Wishing Ganes a happy retirement!

Ganes has been with me for almost 6 years, and was my service dog for five and a half of those. Circle Tail trained him the “block” and “wake” commands so he could help with my epilepsy. Unless I was able to say “forward” in front of stairs, Ganes would stand in front of me and “block" the way. This was very helpful at college, when I had a couple seizures and could have fallen down stairs without Ganes’ help.

When I had larger seizures, Ganes would push me with his nose and lick me after the seizure to help me “wake” up and be more aware of my surroundings.

Knowing Ganes was able to help during the day and night gave me a lot of comfort. I felt safer when he was around. My recovery time has lessened from over 20 minutes to 10 minutes since Ganes became my service dog. Having to jump on my bed and “wake” me during the middle of the night countless times meant Ganes was working 24/7 as a service dog. He has certainly earned his retirement and will be turning 11 years old this fall.
